Cheerleading returns to the Galaxy! The Second Life Cheerleading Squad, SL's premiere dance team, is made up of some of the most friendly and talented women Second Life has to offer.

The SLCS Cheerleaders are a unique, dazzling organization and their competition-style cheerleading performances and routines have begun to captivate audiences throughout the SL World. SLCS works hard to contuinually develop and practice new and interesting ways to astound its audiences and prides itself in it's friendly, energetic squad members and their dedication to bringing Professional Cheerleading to Second Life.

A unlimited 7seas fishing contest is to take place from 3:00pm to 4:00pm. The first place winner will receive a weeks stay on the Galaxy! 2nd and 3rd place winners will receive what every fisherperson needs BAIT! Hope you will join us. A Prize pot starting at 100L will also be divided among the winners.

The Courtship of Princess Leia is a 1995 bestselling Star Wars book by Dave Wolverton. It continued the streak of New York Times Bestsellers, which started with Heir to the Empire. The Courtship of Princess Leia is set in the Star Wars Expanded Universe, and deals with the downfall of Warlord Zsinj and the circumstances leading to the marriage of Han Solo and Princess Leia.

The SS Galaxy is pleased to present ELiz Watanabe LIVE in concert! Eliz hails from Texas and is certainly no stranger to music. From a young age Eliz has been playing the Piano and Singing. She was trained as a vocalist which has been her main focus for the past few years. Through her hard work and dedication to music Eliz has received numerous awards for her talent.

Eliz has performed many times at local venues, in real life, focusing on improving her stage appearance. Eliz's passion is country music but she also loves to sing pop and love songs.

Major influences in Eliz's life are Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, Martina McBride and Faith Hill. If you haven't heard this amazing lady perform then you don't want to miss this!

We are pleased to present Kim Gottlieb-Walker's work now on display in the Nova Straaf Gallery! Please take a moment to check out this wonderful exhibit and stay tuned for the opening with a chance to meet the photographer herself!

Kim Gottlieb-Walker graduated from UCLA in the late 1960’s with a BA in Motion Picture Production. She shot stills for numerous magazines including Music World, Feature, Rolling Stone, Newsweek and People. She worked in the mid-seventies shooting for Island Records, covering reggae performers all over Jamaica. She has worked for over 25 years as a unit still photographer on motion pictures and television, including the early John Carpenter movies (“Halloween,” “The Fog,” Christine,” “Escape from New York” and “Halloween II&rdquo

as well as “Cheers” (for 9 years), “Family Ties” (for 5 years), “Star Trek -The Next Generation and Deep Space 9” and “Bob” (Bob Newhart’s last show) for Paramount television and Steven Spielberg’s “Amazing Stories” at Universal.

She is an elected representative for Still Photographers on the National Executive Board of the International Cinematographer’s Guild, IATSE Local 600.

His intrepid bold colors,thick juicy paint and deep meaningful figures are the characteristics of his paintings. Czech Republic Photographic Art at the Nova Straaf Gallery

Michal Prihoda who resides in Brno, Czech Republic He started photography at the age of 15. And desires to visit the black continent again and again, since his first taste of Africa in 2005.

Michal is a member of citizen organization Bwindi Orphans. Bwindi Orphans is a Czech non-profit organization operating in Uganda, Africa and focused on support and remote adoption of Uganda children who are either orphans or who are coming from extremely poor families.

Carol "laoness Aichi" also resides in Brno, Czech Republic

She has loved drawing from an early childhood. When she was 10 years old, she began to study at an art school. Her teacher encourage her to continue study at high school too. She was admitted to high school of art and design that she is studying now. Pictures at the exhibition are mostly from her childhood and to give her support to children in Uganda.

We have a fascinating exhibit for you this month. Be sure and drop by. And remember it is only on display untill the end of the month!

Tales of Beedle the Bard - story telling by Shandon Loring, Saturday 10th, 11am SLT

The Tales of Beedle the Bard was originally produced in the Muggle world in a limited edition of only 7 copies, each handwritten and illustrated by J.K. Rowling. This book played a key role in the conclusion of "Deathly Hallows". This collection of fairy tales compiled by a 15th century bard named Beedle-the wizard world's equivalent of the Grimm Brothers.These stories have been popular bedtime reading for centuries and are as familiar to children in the magical world as Cinderella and Snow White are to Muggle children.

The first four stories from the book, plus commentary from Albus Dumbledore, will be presented in Voice. All attendees will receive lots of 'Wizardy' freebies - including an invisibility cloak and a magic wand!

The SS Galaxy has invited the staff to come together in the Nova Straaf
Gallery to sell the holiday and other items they have made over the last
year or so! Instead of the usual art show from artists of the countries we
visit, during the month of December we will host ourselves! The warm and
wonderful SS Galaxy staff will be setting up shop up starting Monday, Dec.
1, 2008 and will be in the Gallery until the end of the month.

Bargains and freeibes will definitly be around! We will have a Shopping Fair sometime in the near future to "open" the show. But starting the 1st, you can count on some great items for your holiday shopping! Hope to see you there!

The SS Galaxy is pleased to present Elvera Lerner! We hope you will join us for this amazing vocal talent! Come with that special someone or come alone either way you won't want to miss this! Although a new talent to Second Life, Ms Elvera Lerner is no stranger to the stage, having been singing and performing live since a child. Classically trained, she has performed in opera and operetta for years taking such roles as Mabel in The Pirates of Penzance, Rosalinda in Die Fledermaus. Gretel in Christopher Columbus and many more. She also sings and acts in musicals, performing such roles as Calamity in Calamity Jane, Dorothy Brock in 42nd Street and Killer Queen in We Will Rock You to name but a few. Within weeks of joining ‘Second Life’ Elvera appreciated the instant excitement of live performance online and now she is delighted to be able to share her beautiful voice with the world.

Last spring DutchX Exchange has taken over the sim "Best of Rotterdam" and now we're ready for the GRAND OPENING!!! This weekend we'll be celebrating with a weekend full of events. The "Best of Rotterdam" team will show you how diverse this great dutch city is and what she has to offer in Second Life. Below you'll find the program for the opening weekend, make sure to be there since it's going to be a weekend full of activities, events and party!!!!

The Galaxy is pleased to present Holand artist Catharina Ivanova (Nelly van Nieuwenhuijzen)! Nelly started 35 years ago her artist-career as a passionate watercolorist. She is wellknown for her colourfull paintings in that medium. Her works are in the collections of some big compagnies like Dow Chemical, BASF, Rank Xerox etc. and in a lot of private collections all over the world.

Nelly is a artist-painter, but sometimes she likes to create other things. The SS Galaxy is pleased to announce Carmen Roeth performing LIVE in our Zoidac Ballroom! Carmen has not performed at the Galaxy for a while...this is definitly a not-to-miss event!

Carmen was born and raised in the Netherlands (she says her heart dwells in Belgium). She started singing at age 13 with her father's band. After 22 years as a professional singer she is now gracing the Second Life Community with her amazing voice. Her material includes many genres of music for your listening, dancing, and romancing pleasure. If you have not heard Carmen sing, it's time you did!

Filthy Fluno Art Exhibit

The Galaxy is pleased to present New England artist Filthy Fluno! Jeffrey Lipsky (aka Filthy Fluno) was born and raised in the Boston area of the US. He graduated from Montserrat College of Art in 1999 with a BFA in Fine Arts and concentration in Education. Lipsky's most recent body of work focuses on pastel drawings and paintings about people, places, and events from the virtual reality community of Second Life. He makes the RL originals and limited editions reproductions availabe at his gallery on Artropolis, the island he owns and manages, and at select galleries across the metaverse.

Lipsky also recently opened the RL CounterpART Gallery in Lowell, MA in the US. The gallery is dedicated to mixed reality exhibitions of contemporary art, new media and live events. Visit
